THE COURSE CURRICULUM
Students seeking to enter an Occupational Therapy program must have an interest in promoting health and well-being
through the occupation. They must demonstrate sensitivity, compassion, integrity and concern for others. Students must
have the cognitive abilities to understand and develop the theoretical knowledge and technical expertise to work
collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and colleagues. They must be respectful of individuality and diversity and have
the capacity to build trusting relationships.
Excellent interpersonal skill is highly essential for an Occupational Therapist because they spend a good amount of time
listening to their patients. Students must be able to speak, hear and observe in order to efficiently elicit information,
describe mood, activity, posture and perceive non-verbal communication.

- · Theory and practice of Occupational Therapy.
- · Occupations and Techniques (Crafts and Recreational activities)
- · Clinical posting/attachment in Teaching & Specialist Hospitals
